Laceration to Finger

A worker cut a finger while moving the forks on a Zoom Boom. One of the forks jammed and the worker got a finger caught between the forks resulting in the injury, which required stitches.

Laceration to Head

A worker sustained a cut to the head and required stitches when the worker bumped into a valve under the fuel tank of a semi truck.

Multiple

A worker was loading a vehicle onto the back of a tow truck. Another driver proceeding in the same direction fell asleep and drove into the tow truck. The worker sustained a small laceration to the forehead and fractures to the left scapula, arm and wrist.

Multiple Injuries

A worker was driving a semi-trailer with a belly dump when it got close to the edge of the road, sank and rolled onto its side on the roadway. The worker may have lost consciousness and then complained of a sore foot, head and shoulder.

New Workplace Safety and Health Regulations Effective February 1, 2011

The Workplace Safety and Health Regulation is changing to include new requirements to protect workers from psychological harassment in the workplace. The new provisions will address psychological harassment, such as intimidation, bullying and humiliation.
