    The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) announced the names today of the latest funding recipients of its Research and Workplace Innovation Program (RWIP). This year’s grant recipients are conducting projects on: preventing workplace injuries in a healthcare setting rehabilitation options for workers with rotator cuff tears returning to work after total knee replacements comparing work disability in rural and urban healthcare workers understanding young worker responses to workplace hazards delivering post-secondary occupational health and safety education/training throughout the province.

  • Successful Program for Safety Certified Companies in the Construction Industry Made Permanent Tuesday, February 8, 2011
    Construction companies take note: the WCB Construction Health and Safety Incentive Program has been made permanent following a three year evaluation process. Started in 2007, the pilot program offered a five per cent reduction in WCB assessment rates for construction firms that earned COR (Certificate of Recognition) certification and met certain other criteria. Going forward, the program will be enhanced by doubling the first year discount to 10 per cent.
